Product Features and Details
After the KED Erfurt was the first to use fouraxle compartment coaches on express trains in 1892, the coaches quickly became generally popular due to their quietness. Therefore, after 1900 all previous designs were thoroughly revised and the new official design "D" for bogie cars was introduced. 200 of the AB coaches of the design D.I.21 were produced, of which the last ones already had metal-framed windows. With the introduction of gas lantern lighting in 1909, the roof railings which had been necessary up to then for the "lighters" also disappeared, which greatly improved the appearance of the vehicles.
