Based on: From 1955 onwards, the Deutsche Reichsbahn of the GDR developed the V 60 diesel hydraulic loco for medium-weight shunting operations. The locos were classified by the DR (Deutsche Reichsbahn) as V 60 and, following the conversion of the numbering system, initially as class 106. With a total number of 2,256, this is one of the most frequently built European standard-gauge locos. The motor develops 478 kW.
