Prototype: Class 42 steam locomotive with tender of the German Federal Railways (DB), epoch III. Version of the "Kriegslokomotive" with "standard lights" and short chimney; running No. 42 694.
In 1943, the heavy war locomotive of the 42 series was developed with 17 t axle pressure. It was intended for use in Austria, but also in occupied areas where the superstructure allowed. The plan to build 8000 locomotives (later reduced to 5,000 locomotives) was stopped by the end of the war, and finally more than 860 pieces were produced. The locomotives were used at the DB until 1960 and at the DR until about 1970.
Model: with 21-pole NEM 660 interface for digital decoder input; prepared for the installation of a steam generator. Motor with flywheel, traction tires to increase tractive power. Coupler pocket according to NEM 362 standards and Liliput short couplers. Both-way LED double headlights, alternating with direction of travel (white/white). Model with illuminated firebox and spring buffers on locomotive and tender. Chassis, linkages, wheels and tender made of metal die-cast. Navigable minimum radius: 420 mm.
