Product Features and Details
Prototype: Class 52 steam locomotive with tender, epoch II - III. Version of the "Kriegslokomotive" in "neutral" design with snowplow. After the first years of war, the ever-longer transport routes and also the losses of steam locomotives of the longer-drawn-out war required new and better locomotive designs. For one of these new designs, the light model series 50 with only 15 t axle pressure was selected as the basis. It was heavily refined, got a larger tender, and for the Russian expanses with the few water intake points, 137 locomotives were built with condensers for the recovery of water.
With almost 6300 units, this series is built by most of the locomotive factories in Europe, the most developed steam locomotive in the world. The locomotives remaining at the DB were patterned until 1963, but the DR modernized many locomotives in different variants, which were then still in the 80s. Many of them are still preserved today.
Model: with 21-pole NEM 660 interface for digital decoder input; prepared for the installation of a steam generator. Motor with flywheel, traction tires to increase tractive power.
