I had some of the old M track in my collection, and it was reasonably reliable. However, it still had a sound and look to it that seemed outdated. I did not wish to buy all new, so I oped for the C track adapter to include all new purchases of C track. These adapters work very well with no problems. Some of my past experiences with track adapters in other brands were a combination of awkwardness of the models as they moved through the transition track to outright derailments. The Marklin track does none of this with a seamless performance as trains move through in both direction..
