Product Features and Details
Prototype: German locomotive manufacture J.A. Maffei delivered the MCCI steam powered rail car to the K.Bay.Sts.B Bavarian State Railroad in 1906. The MCCI was used on small branch lines, it had ample seating and windows. I can image in the early 1990's on a cold winter day that the sets near the boiler were the most popular. The MCCI was revamped in 1930 by Munich MAN, a electro motor replaced the old steam boiler. The DRG painted it in the red and beige livery and reclassified it as the ET85. After 1945 the DB Deutsche Bundesbahn repainted them in a red and black livery.
Model: Micro Metakit's MCCI model is a high detailed handmade model and it is simply exquisite. Model features a highly detailed full interior with interior illumination, highly detailed roof, pantographs and undercarriage. The MCCI will be equipped with a brushless ironless motor and sprung loaded puffers. The drive rods and wheels are finely scaled and fully functional. Model is painted in the DRG red beige and black livery. Micro Metakit models are handmade museum quality models produced in very limited quantities, only 45 diesel ET 85's will be produced. We expect delivery in April 2012.
