Novelty 2025: With the class E 410, PIKO is bringing the machines known as the ‘European locomotive’ to the H0 tracks. Equipped for various power systems in Germany, France, Belgium and Luxembourg, the locomotives made cross-border transport much easier. The new PIKO design is a worthy memorial to the locomotive later known as the BR 184. When looking at the detailed roof garden, the four delicate metal pantographs, which were mounted on the locomotive roof without visible screw connections, immediately catch the eye. The side surfaces are characterised by fine grilles and engravings. The detailed replica of the engine room can be seen through the door in the drivers cab, which is ideally highlighted by harmonious lighting. The cab lighting can also be switched digitally. A look under the locomotive body reveals the bogies with numerous separately attached components. The overall impression is rounded off by the clean paintwork and the sharply contoured printing. The PIKO Expert model is factory-fitted with a PIKO PSD XP sound decoder and has numerous typical vehicle sounds. The model bears the ‘fits mfx®’ quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centres, a new quality mark ‘fits mfx®’ was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed bear the ‘fits mfx®’ quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the ‘fits mfx®’ logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
