Product Features and Details
New for 2026: The six-axle electric locomotives of the E 669.1 series have proven their worth in heavy freight service for over half a century.
They were developed from the two prototypes of the E 660.0 class, with the aim of eliminating the need for double-traction freight trains. Delivered by Škoda to the Czechoslovak State Railways (CSD) in the early 1960s, the 150 locomotives built were used on the DC network in the north and east of the former Czechoslovakia. With the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, the entire series, now designated as Class 181, became part of the newly formed Czech Railways (CD). Five locomotives are still in operation today as pusher locomotives under the auspices of CD Cargo.
