Product Features and Details
New for 2026: The six-axle electric locomotives of the E 669.1 series have proven their worth in heavy freight service for over half a century.
They were developed from the two prototypes of the E 660.0 class, with the aim of eliminating the need for double-traction freight trains. Delivered by Skoda to the Czechoslovak State Railways (CSD) in the early 1960s, the 150 locomotives built were used on the DC network in the north and east of the former Czechoslovakia. With the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, the entire series, now designated as Class 181, became part of the newly formed Czech Railways (CD). Some locomotives are also in active service in Poland, including with LOTOS.
