Novelty 2024: The BR 03 steam locomotive appears as an authentic model in the DB Era III version. Like the original, the model has four large leading wheels, harmonious lamps as well as a matching frame and a true-to-original replica of the scissor brakes. The external impression is rounded off by the sharply contoured printing and the short locomotive plate. The model comes with a suitable PSD XP sound decoder as well as digitally switchable lighting in the chassis and driver's cab areas. In addition, a red flickering LED in the area of the fire socket can be switched digitally. The model bears the “fits mfx†quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Marklin digital centers, a new quality mark fits mfx was introduced together with Marklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx test and have passed it completely. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed carry the fits mfx quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx†logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx.
