New in 2024: BR 03 steam locomotive in an authentic version of the DR in Era II. The high, slim boiler and the airy bar frame with a clear view also characterize the silhouette of the machine in the model. The delicate chassis with fine spokes and very plastic balancing weights looks particularly graceful. The model has matching attachments such as bells, pumps and lamps. Numerous attached boiler pipes complete the external impression. The drive and flywheel housed in the tender ensure ideal driving characteristics. The model comes with a matching PSD XP sound decoder as well as digitally switchable lighting in the chassis and driver's cab areas. In addition, a red flickering LED in the area of the fire socket can be switched digitally. The model bears the “fits mfx†quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Marklin digital centers, a new quality mark fits mfx was introduced together with Marklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx test and have passed it completely. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the fits mfx quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx†logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx.
