Product Features and Details
In the 1960s and 1970s, the class V 160 and 216 were the express train locomotive for routes without contact wire on the German Federal Railroad.
The redesign of this important vehicle type not only closes a gap in the PIKO range, but will also enrich many model railroad layouts from Epochs III to V with numerous variants. The development team has implemented the striking shape of the prototype in outstanding quality in the model and at the same time achieved ideal driving characteristics. These attributes are underlined by the effective use of perfect engravings and a coating that is consistent down to the smallest detail. Modern LED technology serves as the basis for the light change in red / white and the light functions that can be switched by retrofitting a digital decoder. The digital interface PluX22 according to NEM 658 is state-of-the-art.
The vehicle's buffer beam can be completed prototypically with the supplied accessories.
A suitable decoder is installed in the factory for the AC models for central conductor operation, which can be used with the mfx digital protocol.
