New for 2022: Variant of the BR 216 in the version of the DB in Era IV. In the 1960s and 1970s, the class V 160 and 216 were the Bundesbahn's express train locomotive for routes without a contact wire. The redesign of this important type of vehicle not only closes a gap in the PIKO range, but will also enrich many model railroad layouts from Epochs III to V with numerous variants. The development team has implemented the distinctive shape of the prototype in outstanding quality in the model and at the same time achieved ideal driving characteristics. These attributes are underlined by the effective use of perfect engravings and a coating that is consistent down to the smallest detail. Modern LED technology serves as the basis for the light change in red / white as well as the light functions that can be switched by retrofitting a digital decoder. The digital interface PluX22 according to NEM 658 is state-of-the-art, a decoder can easily be attached. The buffer beam of the vehicle can be completed prototypically with the enclosed accessories.
