Product Features and Details
LOCOMOTIVE:
Prototype: The German Railways Class 41 was an Einheitslokomotiven (standard design locomotive) built from 1937-1941 by no less than 9 German locomotive builders. Three hundred and sixty six 41s rolled off assembly lines before production ended as the second world war brought raw material shortages. Throughout their lives the 41s were known as "Ochsenloks" (Oxen locomotives) as a result of their use on express freight trains to Berlin. They had a top speed of 56 MPH (90KPH) and an 1873 HP rating.
Model: Each REI Military locomotive is professionally hand-painted and thus highly unique. The locomotives are professionally wheathered, and each one is disassembled, masked, and airbrushed before being reassembled for the final touches. You'll find such features as carefully painted wheels and under frames, weathered boilers and steel Reichsbahn Eagles with authentic swastikas. For this REI Model we used a Fleischmann BR 41 with sound. The Fleischmann BR 41 is a highly detailed model which features interior cab details, prototypical "daylight" between boiler and chassis, finely detailed Heusinger valve gear, brake shoes between the wheels and much more. Model also has cast metal chassis, and a high quality can motor with flywheel. Model runs extremely smooth as with all Fleischmann locomotives. Model is equipped with NEM 362 coupler pockets and illumination that changes with the direction of travel. This is a unique model that will make a great addition to any collection.
