The so-called diving goggles or spectacle snake was developed and built by CKD in Prague. The T 478.4, developed from the predecessor type T 478.3, received a more powerful engine and an electric train heating system. In 1988, the 86 locomotives were given the new series designation 754.
Locomotive 754 083 was delivered to the CSD in May 1980 as T 478.4083. When the fleet was divided on January 1, 1993, it was one of the 26 locomotives that went to the ZSR.
