- With separately applied windscreen wipers
- Finely detailed front grab rails
- Digitally operated with switchable high beam and headlights/taillights
The Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon Railway (BLS) ordered a further developed universal locomotive based on the SBB Re 460 from the Swiss companies SLM Winterthur and ABB Zurich, designated Class 465.
Unlike the Re 460, these locomotives have not just one inverter per bogie, but one inverter per axle.
This allows for optimal transfer of tractive effort to the rails. The BLS uses the 18 locomotives primarily for freight transport, but also for commuter trains.
