A total of 11 Fe 4/4s were given electric brakes in 1930/1931 and 1938 for use on the Seetalbahn and the steep Vallorbe - Le Pont line. Following the decision to modernize this partial series, the Yverdon workshop converted the De 4/4 1669 in 1965/1966. At the time, it was intended to serve as a model, belonged to the Lausanne depot and was about to require a major overhaul. The rebuilt railcar received the following innovations, among others: a driver's cab for seated operation, new pneumatic devices, a compressed air master switch, a new hopper battery, and an enclosed driver's cab. Only its dark green livery with a light gray undercarriage remained classic.
