Product Features and Details
New for 2026: The Class 1067 locomotives were true rarities for the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) between 1961 and 1994. Only one prototype and four additional locomotives were ever built.
They were equipped with a unique technical feature: an electro-hydraulic drive. Built by Jenbacher Werke, these electric locomotives with a central cab were used for shunting and could be found in fir green or blood orange livery. The drive concept, heavily based on diesel locomotives, proved prone to defects and damage, which is why production was discontinued and locomotive 1067.03, the last active example, was taken out of service on October 1, 1994. Today, two of these locomotives can still be admired at the Knittelfeld and Ampflwang railway museums.
